Marck Espejo to lead RP Under-23 Men's Volleyball Team
Marck Espejo, the back-to-back Most Valuable Player awardee of UAAP Men's Volleyball, will lead the Under-23 Men's Volleyball team representing the country in the Asian Men's U-23 Championship in Myanmar on May 12 to 20. This tournament will serve as the Asian qualifier for the 2015 FIVB Men’s U-23 World Championship in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on August 24-31
Coach Oliver Almadro of the Ateneo Blue Spikers is tasked to build and coach a competitive team that will be donning the national colors. Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas, Inc., with the help of Shakey’s V-League stakeholder Ricky Palou of Ateneo will back the formation of the team.
Coach Almadro revealed that UAAP Season 77 Best Setter Esmilzo Polvorosa, together with his teammates Rex Intal and Ysrael Marasigan of the Ateneo Blue Spikers are part of the team pool. UAAP Best Blocker Petter Torres (NU) and Best Scorer Mark Gil Alfafara (UST) are also shoo-in for the team.
Almadro is also eyeing some NCAA stars to be part of the team. NCAA Season MVP Howard Mojica (EAC) and another top hitter Johnvic De Guzman (CSB) are part of his prospects.
