Alyssa Valdez to lead RP Under-23 Women's Volleyball Team

During the telecast of the opening of Philippine Superliga, Chot Reyes, Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas Inc. member, announced the tentative RP Under 23 line-up.UAAP two-time Most Valuable Payer, Alyssa Valdez, will lead the team that will be donning the national colors in the upcoming AVC U-23 Volleyball Championship tournament.

Here's the announced line-up.


Tentative RP U-23 Line-up:

1. Alyssa Valdez (ADMU) - Wing Spiker
2. Jia Morado (ADMU) - Setter
3. Bea De Leon (ADMU) - Middle Blocker/Hitter
4. Gretchel Soltones (SSC) - Wing Spiker
5. Alysa Eroa (SSC) - Libero
6. EJ Laure (UST) - Wing Spiker
7. Ria Meneses (UST) - Middle Blocker/Hitter
8. Dindin Santiago (NU) - Middle Blocker/Hitter
9. Jaja Santiago (NU) - Middle Blocker/Hitter
10. Kim Fajardo (DLSU) - Setter
11. Aby Maraño (DLSU) - Middle Blocker/Hitter
12. Christine Rosario (AU) - Middle Blocker/Hitter
13. Myla Pablo (NU) - Wing Spiker

Coach Roger Gorayeb of NU is the Head Coach of the team, and Coach Tai Bundit of ADMU is the consultant. According to Chot, the team will start their training this coming April 6.

Philippines will host the AVC U-23 Volleyball Championship tournament on May 1-9, 2015. 

The Philippines is bracketed in Pool A along with Iran and Kazakhstan. TV 5 will cover the event.
