We're weeks away from summer. And we, volleyball fans, all know that summer isn't complete without the Shakey's V-League!
The Shakey's V-League (SVL) is a volleyball league in the Philippines that has been active since 2004. For the previous years, they always kicked-off SVL seasons with the Collegiate League. This time, they're changing things up. Season 12 of the SVL will kick-off with the Open Conference for both men's and women's division. SVL 12 Open Conference will start this April 5, venue's TBA.
According to a reliable source, 8 teams will join this conference's men's division and another 8 teams will join the women's division.
For the women's division, the following veteran teams will join- Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, PLDT, Cagayan Valley Rising Suns and Meralco. Davao Lady Agilas, who joined the first conference of last season is also rumored to return in this conference, together with another city-based teams from Baguio and Cebu. Fourbees, comprised of AU and UPHSD stars is also rumored to join the conference.
For the men's division, Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, Cagayan team, IEM, Fourbees, Systema, PLDT-Cignal are rumored to join.
Again, these are rumors. Some teams might back-out or some teams might be added in the tournament. Hopefully these rumors are true, cause these seems very interesting. Right?
